Secar Roupa à Chuva (“Drying clothes in the rain”) is the culmination of a month-long residency for a group of 12 artists at Quinta das Relvas as participants in the SEEDS project – means for a sustainable art practice, under the Creative Europe programme. The SEEDS project kicked off at the beginning of September with conferences and workshops led by Linda Weintraub, Yasmine Ostendorf-Rodriguez and Sónia Francisco.
The exhibition at the Cineteatro Alba is an itinerant version of the first exhibition of the same name, held at the Viarco Pencil Factory in São João da Madeira from 28 September to 30 November. It is a reinterpretation adapted to the new configurations of this space, but maintaining the objectives of the original exhibition: to propose a series of artistic works that consider the application of sustainability in their practice, rethinking processes and inviting collective questioning.
